About a 6 weeks ago, in part 5, we saw the YouTube ranking of the video climb back up close to it’s original ranking before the start of the GSA SER backlinking. I planned to start on this part earlier, but was tied up with SuperHAC and SuperCS. The longer break has given us more time to analyze the effects of the GSA SER campaign. The climb back up in the YouTube rankings happened after dropping significantly during the first couple weeks of the backlinking campaign. I decided to stop the GSA SER 301 backlinking campaign since our last check. In this part, we are going to see if the YouTube ranking continued to climb, stay the same, or decrease once again. No backlinking or other work has been done to the video over the past week. Before we get into the stats check, we’re going to submit the higher quality backlinks created by GSA SER to Express Indexer based on the recent success of the service. From there, in the next part, we are going to see if the indexing of the backlinks plays any role in the Google and YouTube rankings.
In part 6, 3 weeks ago, we rechecked the indexing rates for the 5 sites. To summarize, 60 of the same exact backlinks were created for all 5 sites. The backlinks for site #1 and site #2 were submitted to Express Indexer. Site #3 and site #4 were submitted to Instant Link Indexer. Site #5 remained as the control group with its backlinks not being touched. Up until this point, we saw some great percentages for the Express Indexer sites and no indexing whatsoever for the Instant Link Indexer sites. Check #4 (102 hours later) and check #5 (228 hours later) is where most of the indexing occured for the Express Indexer sites. In part 6, we saw very little movement at all. We’ve given the sites a long layoff of 3 weeks to see if the indexing has come to a stop.
In part 4, we did a stats check after 10 days of backlinking our 301 redirects using GSA SER. The video continued to not crack the top 500 in Google and the video saw a huge decrease in YouTube ranking. It’s now a total of 3 weeks since we started the GSA SER project and 11 days since our last stats check. The backlinking has been continually running the past 11 days with no changes to the project. Today, we are going to take a look at GSA SER again and do another stats check to see if there is any major changes to the rankings. After that, we are going to start submitting the backlinks to Express Indexer and decide on which direction to take the case study based on the stats check.
In part 3, we set up a GSA SER project to create backlinks for the 472 short 301 URL links. These 301 URLs point to the YoutTube video, so we are looking to use them as a filter to pass clean link juice to the video using SER. We did a mega blast with no filters, no drip feeding, a lot of captcha services, etc. to maximize the number of backlinks. The backlinking project was set up to create a variety of backlinks with a large variety of anchor texts. The 301 redirects were submitted to article sites, web 2.0s, wikis, bookmarking sites, social sites, directories, etc. In this part, we are going to take a look at the results after 10 days of nonstop backlinking to the 472 URLs. We’re going to to see what effect it had on both the Google and YouTube rankings of the YouTube video for the main keyword.
It’s time for another index check. Our last check, part 5, was completed a week ago. We saw the two sites submitted to Express Indexer rise even more and bring great results. The two sites submitted to Instant Link Indexer continued to bring disappointing results. There were no new backlinks indexed for these sites. The control group, site #5, saw a new backlink indexed to bring its total right in line with sites #3 and #4. With sites #1 and #2 bringing in more and more indexed backlinks each time, this index check will be an interesting one since it has been the longest time period between two index checks. Onto the results…
In part 2, we submitted the YouTube video to 301 link shortener services using GSA URL Redirect Pro. We created a total of 491 short 301 URL links. We are going to use these links as a buffer and blast them using GSA Search Engine Ranker. It’s been around 9 days since the start of this case study. Since then, we’ve been keeping track of the Google ranking, YouTube ranking, and the likes/views stats for the YouTube video. In the first 7 days, no work was done, so the Google ranking of our selected keyword stayed out of the top 500. The YouTube ranking jumped around a bit, but stayed relatively stable, which is expected. The views and like also stayed relatively the same. In this part, we will be focusing on setting up the backlinking of the 301 redirects using GSA SER.
